Upbringing of our puppies, litter plans and combinations of the past
For our puppies, we want the best new owners where they are part of the family and can work according to their traits which have been carefully selected for generations.
As we expect the best from you,
you can also expect the best from us: Our aim is to give owners curious, self-confident, healthy, good-looking and well-socialized pups who are ready for their new life. That´s why we strive to get them used to all kinds of surroundings, undergrounds, noises and different types of people.
They are used to be in the household as well as to explore in their outside kennel and in revier. When old enough, they start to meet the other dogs of our pack and get to interact with different kinds of game. Like this, we support their natural traits of apporting, pointing, and also swimming if the weather is appropriate.
Of course you can tell us your wishes regarding gender, character and also color, but we will also ask you many questions regarding your situation and plans with the pup. We do so in order to find the right dog for you. To make the perfect match, we haven been employing the
Volhard’s Puppy Aptitude Test for generations of litters. In this test, the puppies have to prove themselves one by one regarding their behaviour in different new situations. This test generally undermines our assessments and helps with allocating the pups.
Our pups come with a FCI pedigree issued by the Cynological Association of Slovenia
and an EU passport. They are microchipped and had their first set of shots advised by EU.
If puppies shall go abroad where they need a rabies vaccination to be imported, we also offer to keep them longer in our care.

#1 Old lines
Our Adin Dom Kennel has been active in breeding versatile Deutsch Kurzhaar for more than 50 years.
Our line is based on famous and successful old West and East German as well as Austrian Deutsch Kurzhaar kennels.
We alsways do our homework carefully and try to find perfect matching lines, thus driving usually abroad to breed our females.
#2 Top breeding dogs
For our breeding, we count on both females and males with the highest versatile hunting trials who prove their talents and capabilties as active hunting dogs. We only use healthy dogs with sound and balanced characters who are very trainable and have a big will to please.
Also, our breeding dogs have often show champion titles and excellent form evaluations.
#3 Start @ high trials
As we breed according to the rules of the German DK Verband, puppies from our kennel with matching work, form and HD results are eligible to start at the highest trials of the German DK Verband like IKP and Kleemann.
Most of our breeding dogs are also written into the German Stud Book of hunting dogs (VGP done under JGHV).
Upcoming litter plans
If
all goes well with timing and nature, we plan the
D II-litter with our Zarja in spring 2024.

Founders of our kennel
This picture shows very important persons for our kennel: Andreja, the current boss of Adin Dom, her dad Franci Strajnar plus one very special dog - our Ada,
our founding female.
When it was about finding his future kennel name, Franci Strajnar wanted the name to impart that the dogs of his kennel should be partners on four legs and part of the family. That´s why he called his kennel "Adin Dom" which in Slovene language means:
"The Home of Ada".
